IFCO's mission is to promote family-based solutions for out-of-home children, based on the United Nations Convention on the Right of the Child. As our mission becomes known we are aked to share our expertise by countries seeking to develop foster care and kinship care, to replace institutions.
In order to meet these requests we need a pool of committed people willing to share their expertise in other parts of the world. Accordingly IFCO has established a Training and Development Bureau to facilitate the exchange of information among persons of the world with a view to promoting the development of family care for all children.
We are committed to the development of a diverse pool of experts to reflect the abilities and competencies required. This would include experienced foster carers and young people who have been in care. Accordingly we are inviting any of our members who are interested to apply to become member of the Training and Development Bureau and to join its international pool of experts.
