The role of IFCO
IFCO brings together people involved in foster care so that they can exchange information and good practice in family-based care.
This is achieved by:
- Conferences and training seminars
- The development of regional networks – at present we have an active network in Latin America and Central and Eastern Europe
- Web-based forums and emailing
- Resources of expertise worldwide
We are an independent advocate of family based foster care across the world; our role is not to get directly involved in fostering or adoption but to raise awareness and share best practice of fostering for the benefit of children and young people in care across the world.
We offer a membership scheme whereby you can stay up to date with latest news and initiatives and get a reduced entry fee to our conferences. Learn more about becoming a member.
