Welcome to IFCO’s dedicated young people’s zone.
This is the section of the website that is just for children and young people in Foster Care. Here you can find out more about IFCO and our approach to Foster Care and help us to make Foster Care a better experience for children around the world.
Who we are
In November 1989, the United Nations met in New York City for a Convention on the Rights of the Child. At this event, people who represented countries from all over the world made a list of rights that children have to make sure they are treated with care and respect.
At IFCO, we base everything we do on one of those rights; the one that says every child and young person everywhere in the world deserves to have a family. We are a worldwide network of volunteers who are all working to make sure this right is a reality for children in Foster Care through family based care.
Making your opinion count
The IFCO network is made up of foster carers, people who work in Foster Care and children and young people just like you.
We work together around the world to help make sure that every child has the right to grow up in a family. We’re here to listen to you, to understand what you want, and to help make a change. We want to understand fostering from your perspective and listen to what you have to say.
Can you help us?
If we’re going to help make sure all children in Foster Care can grow up in a family environment, we’re going to need your help.
You can get involved with IFCO by becoming a member and attending one of our international conferences where you can meet other children and young people in Foster Care from around the world. All children and young people who are in Foster Care are welcome to join IFCO and to help us make a difference.
